Tecom
Specialized in the construction of blown film extrusion lines, Tecom supplies single and multilayer systems of different sizes capable of processing all types of biodegradable and compostable polyolefins and polymers based on starch or polylactic acid (PLA). The fields of application range from HDPE film with 0.007 mm thickness up to multilayer film with 0.2 mm thickness.
A company founded in 1963 as a manufacturer of textile machines, Tecom entered the market of producers of blown film extrusion systems as early as the early 1970s. For several years the company has specialized in the production of small plants called monobloc and medium-sized extrusion lines suitable for the processing industries that were born in those years. This type of plant, still present in numerous processing companies, was suitable for the production of small and medium runs of film and tubulars mainly absorbed by a local market. Tecom’s philosophy was based on the reliability of its machines over time, on the service provided to the customer and on the customization of the systems. Another peculiarity of the machines had to be that of flexibility, that is, the transition from one material to another and frequent changes of size in a short time. While trying, when it had the opportunity, even in the construction of larger plants or two-layer coextrusion lines, Tecom was identified in those years only as a manufacturer of small plants.
From the end of the 1980s Tecom, with the contribution of a new technical management, began to produce systems with ever greater technological content suitable for the high production and quality that large-scale distribution and automatic packaging machines required. New technologies have been developed for ever higher film productions, also in HDPE, with or without internal bubble cooling (IBC), extruders with screws up to 120 mm in diameter and fixed or rotating heads with dies up to 1000 mm in diameter. All these innovations were introduced without losing sight of the initial philosophy of the company, adding other values such as those aimed at reducing production costs, increasing performance and protecting the environment. Given the reorganization of the film plant manufacturers sector in Italy, which took place in the last decade, Tecom, by introducing new technologies in step with the times, has intensified its efforts to make itself known, not only as a manufacturer of small plants.
